Porcelain Veneers

A porcelain veneer is a wafer-thin shell that is placed over your existing tooth, covering up flaws like crooked or gapped teeth, stains, and other imperfections. Affordable and minimally-invasive, veneers are a great way to restore your smile in Fitchburg, Madison and Five Points. At Mendota Springs Dentistry, Dr. Zhang and Dr. Jacoby can help you transform the appearance of your smile and feel more confident with veneers

The Benefits Of Porcelain Veneers At Mendota Springs Dentistry

Veneers have a number of benefits. First, you’ll be able to restore your entire smile in just two appointments, with no invasive surgery. Your smile will be radically transformed and you’ll feel more confident and satisfied with the appearance of your smile.

Veneers are also built to look and feel natural. Nobody, including you, will be able to tell them apart from real teeth. They’re also very durable and stain-resistant, and can easily last a decade or longer with proper care.

What To Expect During The Veneer Placement Process

The process of veneer placement from Dr. Zhang or Dr. Jacoby takes just two appointments. At your first appointment, your teeth will be cleaned and prepared for veneers, with the removal of a thin layer of enamel. This layer is equal in thickness to the veneer that will be applied to each tooth, and it is removed to ensure a seamless fit.

Then, images and impressions of your teeth are taken. These are sent to an outside dental lab where your veneers will be crafted to match your existing teeth perfectly. You’ll be given a set of temporary veneers to wear while the permanent ones are manufactured.

When your permanent veneers arrive at our office, you’ll come in for your second appointment. Dr. Zhang or Dr. Jacoby will double-check the fit and finish of the veneers, and make minor adjustments to them, if necessary. Finally, they are bonded into place using dental cement, and polished and buffed to complete the procedure and give you a beautiful smile.

Caring For Your Veneers

Veneers do not require any special care. Simply brush and floss normally, and see one of our dentists every six-months for an oral exam and teeth cleaning. However, you should be careful when chewing extremely hard foods like almonds or ice, particularly with veneers on your front teeth. Chew these items with your molars, and avoid chewing any non-food objects which could damage your veneers, like pens or fingernails.

How Much Do Porcelain Veneers Cost?

The cost of veneers depends on your specific case, how many teeth you are treating with veneers, and their location in your mouth. If you would like to discuss cost and financing, schedule a consultation with our dental team.
